No pots placed on food storage
« on: January 26, 2012, 04:24:01 am »

Howdie

I have plenty pots.
No pots are placed on the food storage area.

Max barrell is 77.
The pots are stored many levels down (if that matters).

What is wrong? My food is rotting :(
Thanks!

Are your pots forbidden?

Do Barrels work?
If not, then your food could be in big stacks that won't go into barrels (happens with cooked food)
If yes, then could be some strange setting problem for the 'pile (the plant/animal product setting, for example. Don't know what this one does)

are farm products rotting or prepared food? farm products never come in bigger stacks than 5 afaik, so that should work. However food from the kitchen can easily be more than 10. There is a reason why cooking is the easiest way to buy out caravans, and masterwork dwarven sugar with turkey egg roast, stack of 39 is near the top. Prepared meal production can easily fill your whole stockpile, which is why I set up a large, special stockpile for that

Max barrell is 77.
For the food stockpile where you want them to be used? Or have you gone and set the "reserve barrels" count to 77?

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Don't pots have to be glazed to be used for food/drink storage?

Clay pots, yes, but stoneware (fire clay), porcelain (kaolinite), and stone pots do not need glazing (even if they're made out of talc!).
