Cave ins

i know this is a stupid question but will cave ins go down stairs? it would be really great if they did because i have a few things i need to kill down those stairs like clowns

Yup.

If by go down stairs, you mean obliterate them.

Note, this only applies to constructed stairs. Dug out stairs revert to their natural stone type. Which, I guess achieves the same effect.

Up stairs and by extension up/down stairs are not damaged by being caved-in on. Down stairs are destroyed, the same as floors are. There is no difference between natural and constructed stairs. When the stairs themselves cave-in, all kinds of stairs are destroyed, again there is no distinction between natural and constructed stairs. Only natural wall are not destroyed in a cave-in, while constructed walls are destroyed (deconstructed).
