Fey Dwarf Ignoring Materials
« on: January 08, 2012, 02:04:16 pm »

So, I have a dwarf in a fey mood who took over my Craftsdwarf's Shop.  He wants "logs" and "body parts."  I have more than 50 logs in the two floors above in the stockpile room, and I butchered a cow and have cow skulls, bones, horns etc lying outside.  I'm fairly certain he's actually claimed some logs and bones because when I butchered the cow I saw him move from his workshop to the cow's remains.  I'm not sure if he actually got anything before the other dwarves carried everything away though.  I read on the wiki that if a fey dwarf is ready to make an artifact, it should say he's working furiously, but he's still demanding the aforementioned ingredients.  I've tried to be as specific as possible, anyone know what the problem is?

You may have multiple bones needed for the artifact. Butcher more things.

There's still a bunch of remains in the refuse pile outside, though.  I also tried to change (o)rders to gather outside refuse, but he didn't do anything.

It is likely that he wanted some kind of specific bodypart that the cow butchery wasn't producing - frequently this turns out to be teeth in my experience.  Not a lot of things are large enough to leave teeth when butchered.

Skulls, horns, remains, are useless for strange moods.  He wanted bones.  You needed to butcher more animals, he likely wanted several stacks of bones.

They probably wanted shell. Unless shell isn't used in moods anymore. But I'm pretty sure it is.

If they want shell though, they do specify shell as opposed to bones.

You seem to be under the illusion that we give a shit about what happens to dwarves who are too dumb to live.

Did he say he wanted stacks of bones?
