Do we get to pick out weapons before each game or are we stuck with what we grab now for the tourney?

So I agree with jakeread1, but bring the sharkfin too, but don't include ammo, walk in, use the sniper rifle and drop it.
You'll have to use this gear for a little while, but you can switch later.

Why should we bring a empty sharkfin?

Scratch the sharkfin idea, were keeping this stuff for a while and its not just a one round fight thing. Also bring 4 frag grenades, we don't need to use non-lethal force since this is a death match..

New Quest: For Life, and Rights

As you quickly grab the near you think will help you the must it suddenly enters your mind to look for a metal sheet for some reason. You look for any metal sheets you can find, but you only end up getting an old bettered looking riot shield that you decide to take along with you. As you pick it up, and sling it over your back you hear a massive grating sound, and a flood of light and sound assaults your ears from the stadium above. As the cheers from the crowd grow louder, and you hear a group of guards coming down the tunnel you quickly climb up the newly accessible ramp. As you reach the top you find yourself in the shell of an old building, and you see six other fellow fighters standing at the entrances to similar ramps.

As you begin to wonder what is going on a PA system crackles to life, and joy-filled announcer type voice floats through, "Welcome contestants to the Arena!! Today you seven are going to be facing off against a horde of mutants, and other similar creatures, and your group must hold that building you are in. Losing that building is an forces you to lose the match. Now let the bloodbath begin!!!" With the last words you here more ear-shattering grinding, and see numerous metal gates opening at the far side of the building. The other fighters quickly rush about taking positions at windows, behind couches, and rushing up the stairs. Where should you go?

Head for the top floor. Head for the window on the above the door.
See if every window on the top floor is covered with one man, the two extra can go downstairs. Try and get the men to work together, I assume we have like 30 seconds to yell and try and plan something before the creatures are released.

- What constitutes losing the building, cause we could just all go up to the top floor and shoot through those holes in the floor and out the second floor windows while creating a choke point on the stairs..

- Also I love this idea and your style for your posts.

You lose the building if a large group of enemies makes it onto the top floor, or you die.

Alright everyone take up positions on the top floor, minus like two or three downstairs. If shit goes sideways pull upstairs and frag the bottom floor.
Use this brief time to try and talk to the others, muster some awesome battle speech and see if they wanna go with the plan above according to what weapons they have. Take note of who has what so we can loot their dead bodies..

Are the barricades easy to move? If so Have everyone head upstairs after grabbing a barricade and barricade the ramp to the second floor. Tell the others to each man a 2 windows and the others and we will man the ramp up.

If the barricades are not move able have 1 person to 3 windows and the others on the ramp. Be prepared to throw grenades.

If we abandon the bottom floor then they could start dismantling the building, shooting through the floors, starting fires, bad stuff... We didn't hear anything about a time limit, so we need to convince them to leave us alone. Lets make an obvious entrance and fortify it. Leave the front door open and set up barricades in front of it. Break open a window on the opposite wall on a higher floor, and cover that. Hopefully the enemies will all take the obvious entrances.
Set the click-clack to shoot at the front door, but save it for hectic times as it may not conserve its ammunition and it would be a good piece to cover a retreat.
Finally, this may be a competition, see if there are any other groups. A few well-placed shots may guarantee that we out-last our rivals...

P.S.
Do we know anything about mutants and similar creatures?
