I like to trade barrels of dye. One barel is worth average ~10k.

That is mostly because I do not not micromanage my decorating industry and bags end up being sewn with images and encrusted with glass/gems.

I don't make any serious trades until I've got steel going, as it's pretty much the only industry I can run and stay focused on farming and military. In the mean time, if I really need something I'll just trade two or three mechanisms.
