Leather clothes count as armor?
« on: May 21, 2008, 10:58:00 pm »

The economy started, I built several shops, but clothing shops stand empty, despite the fact, that stockpiles are full of leather trousers, shoes, vests etc. I lloked at them, nd saw, that while they have basic value, they don't have a price. Dwarves don't take them instaed of their rotten clothes either. Are leather clothes concidered armor? Is it intended?

Leather clothes are normal clothes.  The code that controls dwarf clothes management, however, is basically off-line until it gets an overhaul.  Dwarves care practically nothing for their clothes, as it stands.  This is intended to change in the future, with dwarves replacing worn-out clothes all the time.

This does not explain two issues:
- No price
- Shops don't use them

They aren't counted as armor unless the raws were modified.  Any object that isn't ownable won't have a price.  If they are unclaimed or designated for dumping that'll happen, or if they are made out of non-standard leathers (eg dwarf leather).  I'll take a look at a save if you've got one.  I'll need the region folder in some kind of zip/rar/7z, and any new objects that were added to the raw folder.  If it's less than 20 megs, you can send it to toadyone@bay12games.com.  You can also try The Dwarf Fortress File Depot which has a special section for bugged saves.

I'll wait a little, then. If after a season clothes markets will stay empty, then I'll post it.
