Dada is born of the idea that the world does not "deserve" art, and so targets above all those would try to glean meaning or artistic value from it, in presenting itself truly as a work of art. Most of all it targets those who would seek to understand it, of course they will not explain. You have to simply 'get' it, on your own, but if you get something out of it you're really betraying the idea behind the piece which is of course that there is no idea behind the piece. But you can't do it without some good ideas.

Dammit, I was doing my best to not get the point as a form of protest against anything so up itself it is based on the ideal that the world doesn't deserve art. Bullshit, now get your toilet out of my museum!
