In one room I marked the whole floor to be engraved, and then I placed a well on the floor.  The well went in before the floor was engraved, so when my engraver dwarf got to that section of the floor he just stood there.  Shouldn't his job cancel because there is no longer a floor there to engrave/he's unable to really get there to engrave the floor, since there's a well there now!

Try activating his military squad then deactivating it after a short while, or try undesignating the area under the well.

oh I got him unstuck, by removing the engraving designation under the well.  He went about his busness as usual.

It's odd that it didn't cancel due to pathing considerations.  I'll look around for the mistake.
