Floor construction and removal problems.
« on: May 16, 2008, 06:28:00 pm »

I have had an up/down stairway. Lower level became a nuisance, so I decided to seal it off. I built a floor over the staircase. Then strange things happened.

First, the floor blocked not only the way down, but going up were also impossible. I were forced to remove it, but my dwarves still couldn't access the stairway. Now I see why. The staircase has changed from "up/down" to "down".

I believe that's the way it's supposed to work. You can't have a constructed floor and any type of upward stairway in the same tile.

I think constructing an upward stairway in the tile instead of a floor would solve the problem.
