Interesting thing happening with a deity
« on: December 13, 2011, 01:54:29 pm »

I have a dwarf who is a "faithful worshipper of Atir Bluenesstaxes and a dubious worshipper of Atir Bluenesstaxes"

I thought that seemed interesting and a bit odd. I checked the tiny possibility of it being two deities with the same name, but Atir Bluenesstaxes unly shows up once in that dwarfs relationships page.

Anyone know whats happening here? Just thought i'd mention it because I found it interesting.

I also just had a human diplomat enter from the surface, hold a meeting, then exit the map via hell.... I guess he thinks he's pretty hardass.

Basically, each dwarf selects two deities randomly from a table. Yours happened to select the same one twice. From a roleplaying perspective, I like to think that my dwarf has mixed feelings about the deity's portfolio. I had a god that was associated with fortresses, gems and volcanoes - I made it so the dwarf was really keen on the fortresses part, but thought that volcanoes were just asking for trouble and was dubious about them :)

ah that explains it :P

Well this particular deity is the god of wealth and jewels, pretty difficult to separate those two, so maybe she's got some kind of split personality disorder   :-\

I love this game.

To be fair, not much wealth is actually gained through jewelcrafting, so he might be worshipping the wealth and thinking that jewels aren't the best policy for it.

Or he might love gems and is blowing through all his money to get them. Either one, really.

It's a bug.

People need to get into the habit of looking in the bug tracker before posting threads here...

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

I apologize, It hadn't occured to me that such a minor bug would have been mentioned by many, I only brought it up because I thought it was interesting.
