The brave bacteria bravely begin migrating to the brain, expelling copious amounts of methane gas along the way.



They arrive. The host is momentarily taken aback by a sudden, potent whiff of faecal matter.

Corrupt the blood around the brain with methane in an attempt to kill the brain (should be impossible right now, but it's worth a shot). This may cause horrific reenactments of Ronald Regan speeches, but the bacteria cares not!

Simple. Attack cells, damage them, stimulate them. Just do shit to them to get a response and perhaps infect others...

Flee while feeding on bloodcells you encounter. Evolve enzyme resistance. When powerful enough, penetrate white bloodcells and eat them from the inside.
