[Mac 38c] Game shows idlers when there are none.
« on: May 15, 2008, 10:39:00 am »

I've noticed on many occasions that the game will show that I have one idler, yet when I bring up my units list, all dwarves are occupied. When I unpause, the game correctly shows that there are no idlers. This has happened on dozens of occasions, enough to be quite certain that the game isn't giving a job to a dwarf in the frame before I pause it (while, I suppose, the game's perfectly free to assign jobs to dwarves while it's paused, that would be rather odd).

Of course, this is a very minor bug.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't update the idler count constantly, so pausing the game in any way gives it the second or so it needs to catch up.  If that's the case, then it's an intentional concession to framerate.

It would be nice to have a "clear announcements and update idlers without pausing" button, though, and there's probably other stuff it could do besides.
