Tl;dr...look at springrts please?

That looks cool, I'll have to give it a try.  Thanks for the suggestion, never heard of Spring before.

Sincerely,
Knutor

Best of all - springrts is opensource. But it has leading dev. team which maintains contributions themselves. That's finest example of opensource.

Easy there(presumably)little guy, there's no need to wish death upon other forum members because you have a disagreement with them, that's not cool. And it will cause people to further discredit your suggestion as a result of the secret resentment they will begin to have toward you.

You didn't exactly respond to anything I made a point of mentioning and instead went for insulting my intelligence and knowledge.  Seems to hurt your idea that I am arrogant, but I digress.

By all means explain how I am wrong, I always enjoy learning new things.  I am completely open to the possibility of being wrong...

Well, apparently, Spring RTS, is the best open source thingy out there, and that's his argument.

I just realised he didn't even read a long post with nicely laid out paragraphs by Knutor that explains many of the problems with Open Sourcing DF...

Also:
Closed source only superior when you has income from your project. For non-profit projects open-source is the only way.

He does have income from this project, it is his only income I do believe.  So your own reason against something being opened works too.

If you really think that opensource is chaotical development - than i gratz you - you know NOTHING about development cycle. Please die.

This is one of the problems with open-source projects: The development community runs the risk of being loaded with insane, unproductive, ridiculous arguments characterized by things like this quote.

Yea, as I said before, that statement didn't make any sense. Open or Closed source, there plenty of monetary models for them that can be viable.

If the OP can't maintain their thread without wishing death on other people, they don't get to have a thread.
