Humans, Food, towns next version...
« on: November 29, 2011, 05:19:48 am »

I was checking the pictures at the dev log and I've noticed something, The farmlands are HUGE almost 4x4 embark.
How this people will consume so much food? It will be stored?
I predict people drowing in fisher berries and rope reeds.
Any thoughts?

I doubt there would be much of the food overflow. Keep in mind that people in adventure mode will need to eat every day, not 4 times a year like dwarves in fortress mode do. And there an be thousands of people in one city.
At the moment only food amount in worldgen is tracked. During adventure mode people neither gather plants from the fields nor eat anything so there is no issue. We will see what will happen when people get activities implemented in some future version.

I hear some people have tried it, though I don't know if it worked. Things people have done include limiting the max level of Grower and making the plants take longer to produce food.
