"That's disgusting. Haqhans are sentient," it replies, advancing down the corridor with its rifle raised. Professional fellow, he looks. Not the type to let his guard down.

"Not until they're four months old," you rebut, recalling their bizarre life cycle. "Also, what's your name?"

"Sir Alexander Tesla."

"Nice to meet you, Tex. What are you here for?"

"... My name - never mind. You make it sound like this is a prison ship. Do you mean here in front of you or here on this vessel?" You rummage through the dead Haqhans, and find nothing, which seems like an obvious result now that think about it. It's not like they had pockets.

You debate the relative merits of taking a body with you as you attempt not to panic. Screaming will only get their attention.
