lol... think you got the "pairing" wrong. you might want to read carefully.  It's not 2 duchess to one duke.  It's one duke consort to a duchess  and another duchess consort to the same? duchess?.  Consort is paired with the noble, not another consort.

EDIT: spelt pairing as "paring"... hmmm

Leerok didn't mention anything about fulfilling mandates as part of the price for extra nobles, so I'm presuming these mandates just aren't going to get fulfilled. That and there is no justice system set up in this fortress.

In my fortress, mandates generally don't get fulfilled. Also, no one gets a tomb.

I would have loved the ability to turn dwarven remains into ash.

I've never had one, so I took the verbage to mean a duchess consort (to a duke), a consort that is a duchess.

So a duchess, a duchess consort and a duke = 2 fems, 1 male.

But you say its actually 1 fem, 2 males?  HA! I think after reading some history you'll find that there are dukes that still find that arrangement favorable...

actually, I think a duchess consort is female while a duke consort is male.  duchess consort doesn't mean "duchess's consort", just as a prince consort doesn't mean prince's consort.

So my original assessment was correct, 2 duchesses and a duke.

A consort just means that they hold their title by marriage - a duke's consort is a duchess, but not in her own right.
