40d why you no work?

I want to try 40d's adventure mode but every time I try to sneak, travel, or talk the game crashes.

Sounds like a bug.  Maybe it'll get fixed in the next version. ;)

40d is a version that was a long time ago. It is fixed now but I guess we need a reply from one of the DF veterans about this one.

That's not normal. I've played 40d adventure mode plenty of times. Though not since 40d.

What type of computer are you on? Because I still have my 40d version and that isn't a problem for me, so something might have gone wrong. Have you tried redownloading it?

Windows, and yes several times always crash on travel.

Huh. I'm not able to reproduce it.

I downloaded it from the "Older Versions" page here. Unzipped it, did "Create new world now!" and genned to year 63. I made a human adventurer with "Play Now!", somehow started at an elf retreat and chatted up one of the locals before sticking a sword in his foot (obligatory). Traveling and sneaking also seem to work fine.

Is there anything you did differently that might be causing the problem?

It works, I must have downloaded some buggy version or something...
