The wiki got me semi-set up, but only my melee dwarves ever show up to train, and only 2 or 3 at a time. I have all my squads set to train every month with a minimum of 8 dwarves at a time. I set up training ammunition for the ranged squad, assigned them an armory in a room and hit t to tell them they should train there, and did the same thing with archery targets inside that room.

I'm thinking it's because i've somehow set them up to train only in their downtime. They all have their hauling and cleaning labors active, so maybe they are doing that instead of training?

Did you happen to forget to switch the squad's schedule to active/training(or something like that) on the squad menu?
