But even so, they'll say something along the lines of "come see me in my shop some time!".  This guy is stating that he isn't actually a merchant in the first place.


That name looks suspicious...  Is he an elf by any chance?

As far as I know, they don't - which raises another question. How did the game generate an elf merchant in the first place?

The elves that trade with dwarven fortresses are referred to as elven merchants...  I wonder if that's what this guy is.

Are there any abandoned fortresses in that world?  You may have been chatting with a remnant of that fort's influence.

You are right, there is an abandoned fortress in this world.

Perhaps they should be renamed "Caravan traders" instead of "merchants".


It was interesting to see where all my junk crafts and goblin clothing went, though I never actually did trade with the elves in this particular world.
