"Create New World Now!" Overwrites (38c)
« on: May 04, 2008, 06:39:00 am »

I had a couple worlds of different sizes set up, and decided to try out the Create New World Now! function to see what it would put together. Standard full-size world, I thought, but nothing special.

Then I rechecked the other worlds, and noticed my region 1 world had been overwritten by the one newly created. What had been in there wasn't a corrupted save, and the new one had entirely overwritten it. Just to make sure, I did it again, and the new world made by "Create...Now!" took the place of region 1.

Have you done anything to your save folder yourself, such as backing up things or renaming files/folders? Also, are you running a clean install?

I am running a clean install, and have been clearing out the save folder after making three worlds in a row, which is part of how I noticed something was up; there should have been four folders, but there were only three. I'll test this again once I've backed up my current world (which I rather like.)

Edit: Huh. I tried a couple new worlds, and it didn't overwrite anything this time. I must have missed something before.
