I'm hoping this talk about adding other planes by the developer is really other 'regions'. I'm crossing my fingers, as I don't really want to see Forbidden Aliens, star gating in to fester things up. There appears to be lots of blubber generated in world generation, just sitting there unused, without letting us interact, aside from launch, it gives it a sorta one sidedness. If the devs do add other planes, as actual dimensions or rifts of altered reality, and it feels strange to play; I hope they offer a way to disable it.
That's what I do with Demons.
I noticed in the Lazy Newb world, that their was a way to disable the demons. It plays so much more smoothly without some half goblin-demon obliterating the entire fortress singlehandedly. Those things are gawdawful. I fought one and my squads starved to death, while it stood there healing every kind of damage 32 soldiers inflicted.
If you haven't tried a Lazy Newb World generation, try it, its a little bit more tame at the start and throughout. When I setup my parameters for my world, Discworld and Bad Ass Mountains, I copied a lot of the settings from Lazy. If only lightning would stab at the mountains like an inefficient assassin. HEHE! Although, I'm using a large world, they oddly enough gen very similarly. I start at year 750ish, so I have some established civies to interact in.
So far I got a Minotaur, a two headed Ettin, and a Cyclops.
If only the game had witches and wizards, Bad Ass would be complete. Its easy to pretend the world is a disc supported on the back four elephants on the back of a great world turtle, A'tuin, swimming through space. Really easy. Dwarfs made and repaired flying broomsticks in Pratchett's world. And did a poor job of it, just ask Granny Weatherwax. LOL!
Sincerely,
Knutor
