Dwarf Fortress crafts (in real life)
« on: October 29, 2011, 03:26:31 am »

So my wife has volunteered to cross-stitch some scene or thing related to Dwarf Fortress. Now, it would be low-fi, low res, but I can't think of anything more awesome..... but what to put on the stitch? I can chose a random section of map and it would be kinda of stylish without looking too DF'y. I could do a super zoomed in view of a dwarf and a few items, that would work... but I'm open to ideas. Anyone got any?

Also, I would love to see some more examples of real world DF crafts - anyone know of any?

I suggest you look through the ASCII art rewards people have got for donating. You could even donate and request certain favourite things be included in your own ASCII art reward.

Edit: Thinking about it I'm not sure how great they might be. A second idea might be a still from the intro video?

Yeah, the intro video scene might be cool, but perhaps elephants, miasma and dwarfs would do jusssst fine as indicative of a piece of classic DF!

In true self-referential DF style, she should stitch an image of herself stitching an image of some DF related scene...

Or "This is a fine piece of stitch-work. On the stitch-work is stitch-work about the stitch-work. The stitch-work is made of cotton and framed with wood".
