Certain items dorf could carry more than one
« on: November 04, 2011, 08:46:17 pm »

Certain items like small crafts can be annoying when you are trying to lug a bunch to the trade depot to trade them... Something should be done to maybe determine like a size of each object and then each creature could have the maximum total size of objects carried to determine how many items they could lug at once.... So no longer it is a ton of dorfs needed to lug lots of loot to the trade depot.

Dorfs with babies could tie into it as well with babies taking up some of the size of their carry capacity such that a dorf who has twins will consume most of the carry capacity with only enough to consume food and drink.

Excellent idea. I think dwarf mothers use their infants to help compensate for the lack of arm use, though. It's well-known that military mothers use their infants to protect themselves, I imagine the civilians follow suit and exploit their children.

Exactly. It's up on the dev pages, under Hauling Improvements.

while it is planned, it is really needed soon. Having your farmers scramble to carry the single plump helmet spawn from the kitchen to the seed pile, and repeated 20 times gets a bit annoying

Dwarves passing by get good thoughts from the mist of water and exploding felines.
Anyone of the equivalent to the royal bloodline in a nomadic group would have a sun tattooed on their hand, or a scrotum on their forehead (it's a little-known fact that fraternities are based off of long-forgotten tribes).

Which is why you're not supposed to send mothers w/ babies out to fight a siege. Apparently you don't care about the very unhappy thought generated when somebody loses a family member.

I thought that carrying multiple items at once were what bins were for. Of course, it can also be annoying to get all those individual rock crafts and valuable gems into bins, too...
