Dwarf sure does love his beer...
« on: April 30, 2008, 12:31:00 pm »

I searched for this, couldn't find it, but it's kind of a broad term to search for...

Anyways, I recently drafted a dwarf into my army, and I believe at the time he was hauling some booze. Once recruited, he continued to "carry" it. In fact, so long did he just lug it around uselessly in the barracks that he soon became "Tired".

Deactivating him caused him to just walk around, continuing to carry his beloved barrel of rum. I reactivated him, and he STILL carried it. Just now, while sparring, he dropped it.

...anyways, I figure this is a bug. Shouldn't soldiers drop items they were hauling when they're recruited? Or, at the very least, once they become civilians again, shouldn't he have delivered it?

Booze-hauling has been around for a bit.  It's lots of fun when the sheriff decides to mete out beatings while he's taking a drink.  Nothing says dwarven justice quite like beating someone with a keg of ale.

This range of behaviors is Bug 233, and I'll create a note to make sure this specific one is handled when I get there.
