How to set up a SMF forum

Alright Im setting up a forum for my scout troop and not sure how to do it... will oyu guys help? Ive downladed it and unzipeped it, now what?

You downloaded it and unzipped it, okay. Is this on your home computer? Because that isn't how you do it. Now you need web hosting which will let you make an SQL database. Upload the files to the hosting service and make a database for the forum, then run the install script and enter the database information. Then it will be a forum and not a collection of files.
