Melting Magmamen

Magmamen have a [HOMEOTHERM:12000]
and have the same heat properties as stone.
Stone has a melting point of 11500.
As soon as the magmamen are spawned, they "melt", which instantly kills them, and they drop a melted block of obsidian ( which cools )

Haha... I guess it makes sense, technically speaking...
So there's no way to make creatures able to survive melting, then?

Sounds like the magic holding them together failed.  Maybe once the magic is in the game, a spell can be added to keep them "whole" during the melting (magma technically is melted already)  This would give spellcasters a way to take care of them... just dispell...

increasing the homotherm would just make things worse. just remove the line that gives them the heat properties of stone and they won't melt

However, decreasing homotherm to 11000 would solve all the problems, yes?

Yeah, the temperature stuff is still in progress, and for things like magmamen, the lack of magic in the game precludes their existence.  Decreasing the homeotherm to 11000 should fix this.

I'm now tempted to make domesticated lava larva that can be harvested for their obsidian...

Why not skip the trouble and make steel golems? Adamantine golems?
