Neverwinter Nights DM Module: To Be A King
« on: January 04, 2012, 03:25:33 am »

Hello, just thought i'd share with you a module I have been waiting to host for anyone who might have the game Neverwinter Nights by bioware. In this module 3 players will play the roles of various importance within a dynamic kingdom. The roles range from King, Mayor, Captain of the guard, Militia Captain, Advisor and more, depending on the size and the development of the city. You will be able to recruit troops, set policies, set tax levels, upgrade units, build and expand inside and outside of the city. Not only that, but you will have to work with diplomacy with other kingdoms, and decide ways to deal with smaller tribes near your city, do you assimulate them into your kingdom by force? Or offer them some terms to come peacefully, The world is your oyster as your able to do pretty much anything in this medieval world.  It is low magic, and isn't based in any major particular realm, takes a little from them all. But definitely low fantasy, while there are Elves, Dwarves and the like, there wont be anything crazy. If your interested drop a line here and i'll give you more details, the only requirements are CEP2.3, NWN updated to 1.69, and both expansions SOU and HOU.

What I have listed is only a few of the features, there are different skill sets and powers to each class in the game.

Very basic freewebs site to give you an overview on what to expect, I plan on adding more to it once things get under way.

I just bought NWN Diamond...wheee!  This sounds pretty cool.  What is CEP2.3?

Firstly, congrats on the NWN buy, it's a good game if your into DND , PNP, or just role-play in general. CEP 2.3 is the community expansion pack that adds tons of new creatures, items, tilesets, etc. Generally a must if you ever want to experience NWN the way it should be. First make sure you run the auto-updater to make sure your NWN is at 1.69, then if you are interested in this server, proceed to download the CEP here,

ZIP/RAR version = CEP 2.3 http://nwvault.ign.com/fms/Download.php?id=147417            You will need Winrar, or WinZIP to extract.

Once you open it up, you will need to make sure all the .HAK files are placed in the HAKs folder in the main directory of NWN, and the .TLK files are placed in the TLK directory, also, located in the main nwn installation. Then you will be set to connect, just let me know a good time frame that you are usually, or  can be on and I can host the server to give you an introduction to see if you're still interested. Ignore everything else in the zip, as that relates to people that want to host a server or edit different things.

Look forward to hearing from you, and anyone else whose interested.

Also, if you wish to get a hold of me directly, I have steam - my username is Swassinator / Nickname is Dekkar

My email is bubblej1218@gmail.com

Take care.

I cannot find the TLK dir...is it in the NWN folder?  I found the HAK folder and extracted the Hak to it.

If the TLK folder isn't in the main directory you have to create it. Sorry forgot to mention that, or just copy and paste the whole TLK folder that comes with the zip into the main driectory, that will work also.

It's a server thats being hosted that interested players give me their availability to play, and I will try to see if I can arrange the server to be up during that time. Server sessions are usually 3 hours. Then continue next week, or any other day the player has available.
