Well, don't try to be casual about it, make it clear that you are re-establishing ties with them, and that you realise you've really fallen out of touch and that it's a bad thing. It's nearly 2012. Getting into contact with people (without necessarily walking to their house) is not hard. You really ought to be able to find them on facebook or something like that.

Hell, even twenty years ago you could probably do it just by looking them up in the phone book.

At the very least, you know one of them has a Twitter account, so you could just sign up for that.
