TMBG isn't obscure in the slightest. At all. Why anyone would even think that confuses me.

And I don't like them. A few of their songs are mediocre at best, most make my ears bleed.
Well, bleeding is kind of harsh, they start looking for other, more interesting shit to listen to, such as the humming of my computer. Otherwise +1.

I do recognise that it's well-thought out music, the lyrics are occasionally funny and occasionally meaningful, and they are talented musicians, but they just fail to keep my attention for more than 25 seconds. Just gimme some autotune bullshit already! ;)

The live performance version:

The homestarrunner version:

I really miss homestarrunner.com; they have not updated in forever and I'm kind of afraid they might never again. They Might be Giants has actually done a lot for and with that site over the years including numerous puppet songs. I'm pretty sure they've done at least two (2) or three (3) puppet jams with the homestar runner puppet on vocals. Additionally, I think they might have provided some of the music for a few of the cartoons.

I don't even know where I fall on the hipster scale, or if I'm even on it. Could somone hlp me figure out please? I mainly listen to Homestuck or MLP fanmusic, but fairly often random chiptunes, fanmusic of other things (Including probably everything musical ever made for Dwarf Fortress), and also stuff like http://www.prometheus-music.com/space.html and http://www.symphonyofscience.com/videos.html that I don't know the name for. I've Also liked Jonathan Coulton and Lemon Demon in the past but after a while realized I don't actually like the music.

Well listening to chiptunes is worth good indie points these days, but MSPA music? Instant juggalo, no debate.

There is only one question that matters: Do you wear chunky, square-framed black glasses despite having no vision problems?

One of my best friends does, and she even wears long-sleeved plaid shirts.

Although I think the point of those is to cover up the scars on her arms.

I listened to TMBG for most of the six hour ride back to college today. I own all of their albums up till 2007. They've been one of my favorites since I was a lad.

To be fair, long sleeved plaid shirts are always in style. I wear them because they're comfortable (100% cotton is amazing in summer), and because nothing but T shirts gets boring fast, especially when half your shirts are plain because you don't have the cash to buy a shipping container full of My Little Pony shirts.

I take back what I said about them being OK. I now find them utterly horrible.
