Hey there Fikes, ive modified the post to include more details, and I modified the video link with the trailer + commentary for a total of 14 minutes of video.  I didn't post the previous bay12 thread, and it was a bit unorganized.  This is an official announcement about the game from myself, the project owner.  Thank you!

Cool, I modified my post too so it doesn't look like the thread starts of with a condemnation, hehe.

Good luck with the game and getting funding!

Doesn't seem like it will reach its goal in time. I might pledge in Paypal if it fails, if the devs provide a good explanation of how they are gona fund the development without the initial 50k.

I am kind of interested to find out how he would fund development with 50k. The team has 6 people. 50k is only 8k each (not counting any fees or anything) and it would be hard to survive off of 8k over the development of a project.

Josh, how big is the client and is it currently possible for the average user to log in? Maybe a quick demo weekend?

If not, how about putting up a single player demonstration? Just a very small world with two "NPC"s (not sure how you refer to them) and two scripts (lumberjack and shop keeper) and then a tutorial on how to get the lumberjack to supply the shop keeper.

Probably not something that could be thrown together in less than 6 days, but it would give the skeptics something tangible to look at.

I think their plan was that the 50k would last them until they went out of beta, which would have been in ~3 months I think? And I can imagine a person living on 8k for 3 months, depending on where they live.
