I just found a place with a generous jungle, a river, and a volcano.
Oh, and aquifers. But I don't care about aquifers. They'll help me obsidianize half the volcano, I'll move the fort in there when I'm done.  8)

I don't mean to alarm you, but it appears that your Dwarves are all in fact elephants.

I'm not very adventurous. I like surface water and vegetation because that ensures a good food supply. I like forests for the trees and CURIOUSBEASTs for walking into my cage traps and lining my larder.

I dislike surface variation because goblin crossbowmen will inevitably find high ground and rain bolts into my surface farms and livestock pastures.

At the same time, I like having a wall to dig into for the entrance.

*paradox*

Also, I want to someday find a good canyon/cliff site and make cliff dwellings for my dorfs. Preferably small for FPS reasons.

I like having rivers, metals, at least sparse forestation, and a river. Aquifers are a big no for me, as I hate having to work around them with mining and building. I haven't tried an embark with a volcano, I wouldn't really know what to do with one tho.

Looks like a very resource-driven location. *nods sagely*

I've no real preference otherwise. Someplace with water, either above or underground is good enough for me.
Your FPS is OVER NINETY THOUSAAAAND!!!
Probably for all of two seconds.

A terrifying freshwater marsh with zombies and skeletal creatures.  Bonus points are awarded if it has a river and a sea.  Skeletal Whales are FUN!

Flat land, flux, a river, heavy forests, mountains, and access to all civs. Give me that and I'm a happy dwarf.
