Older and Newer Versions Badassery.
« on: September 25, 2011, 01:02:29 am »

I have started to play LCS just recently, but I would really like to point out a thing: Having characters that are more faithful to reality (as in not being able to single-handedly cut down SWAT teams and slice tanks in half with a katana), I certainly miss that kind of action. My apologies if I am being annoying, but it would be nice if there were two versions (or an in-game built-in option); one as it is now, fairly realistic, and the other...well...with high-level badass leaders with trenchcoats cutting tanks and the Devil himself in half.
My point is that being realistic is a challenge on its own (also it is VERY satisfying to -crawl- your bloody way towards your enemies' demise), but having leaders with Charles Atlas Superpowers on your team can be fun as well, especially because the game was not so easy even when they were around...Eating SWAT teams for breakfast and going samurai (or ninja) on people.

If all you want is a quasi-imortal leader you can just edit your character's stats using cheat engine:

You can also make the Katana capable of cuttting of a tank's turret by editing it's stats at XML files in the art fouder, just copypaste this into the weapons file:

Nah, it is not only about the leaders. It is mostly about feeling like your highest-level Liberals are -almost- demigods, beings capable of inspiring awe and fear among mere Conservative scum, and knowing you had to make them reach that point through much effort (*cough* grinding) . Also, thank you about that, I already knew how to edit items (I made a run with an armored fireproof ninja suit for the lulz), but I did not know that cheat engine.
PS: May anyone tell me how I can obtain the M249? Also, Heavy Armor.
PPS: Is there a way of finding tanks while they are not blasting my Liberals' limbs away? Or a way of getting to them after they try the aforementioned acts of kindness?

M249 can be found in the Army Base armory. Heavy Body Armor can be picked up off of the body of a CCS leader.

I don't think there's currently a way to encounter a non-hostile tank, they only spawn in sieges and after the alarm is already up in the army base.

Well, out of curiosity, I spent some time training my music skill up to 13 and getting trouble at the millitary base to check if tanks can be turned into Liberal tanks after some rock. The results were several blasted limbs and Liberals, and the knowledge tanks are immune to music.
Less of a statement and more of a "Please prove me wrong in some way, I want some goddamn tanks." kind of thing.

They should be (immune to music). I still remember when you could just convert a tank with music, I had a full squad of turned tanks- nothing would ever hurt them... not even a tank (which is a bit funny, seeing as how tanks are the best tank killers IRL). The game was more or less pointless after that.

Modern Tanks are protected against Nukes, Biological and Chemical Weapons.

Your liberal vibes have no chance.

Possibly, depending on the situations on the ground. For example, assuming that you've got air superiority/ supremacy/ parity and the specific terrain, there are points where fast movers/ slow movers/ rotary wing type aircraft are better, while in some cases, dug in infantry are a better option, other than that, you've got land mines being dangerous.

Of course, if you've really gotta kill a guy like me in the field, there's not much more reliable than dropping a couple of megatons of nuclear Armageddon on my hatch.

Then make your tanks to solicit donations.

Heavy Body Armor can be picked up off of the body of a CCS leader.

Interestingly enough, HeavyBodyArmor may also be picked up as standard loot in the Ministry of Love. I don't know whether the same holds true for the standard Intelligence HQ.

I think it's just a question of repertoire. This song should definitely work on tanks:

The entire content consists of senseless murder, a pile of faceless naked women and zero regard for human life in general, all in the service of the protagonist's base impulses. It is clearly a cry for help from a neglected, self absorbed and disempowered juvenile badly in need of affectionate guidance. What a sad, sad display.
