I would chip in in favour of Crypt of the Necrodancer.

Like Ozy said, it really doesn't play like a traditional roguelike - it's simplicity is pretty effectively countered by how fast you have to think. It is also still in early access, and they're adding content at a good rate. The custom music processing isn't that great, but it does allow for altering tempos (which are very lethal IMO :P ). Also, it has local coop, which is pretty much always a plus for me.

I don't know if it qualifies as indie or not, but I'll throw out Dungeon of the Endless here. It is a mix of roguelike and tower defense, and quite fun.
