Hmm, from context I first though the mouse was a very interesting interpretation of kobolds.

it brought to my mind the tale of despereaux, and mouse guard. both of them are charming stories i'd classify as works of art

I thought Mouse Guard when I saw it, too. Fantastic series, and fantastic artwork by you, Alamander. :D

I'm sorry to be both the first poster and point out flaws (usually praise would go here), but because of the uniform hard edges of the mouse, the size of the mouse relative to the bedroll, and the fairly straight posture, it looks very much as though traveler is randomly floating in midair. Only a moment after did I notice he was (I think) meant to be sitting on the ledge.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

As well the piece lacks focus for some reason.

Perhaps I am just really tired but my eyes are somehow forced to look at the entire picture as a whole.
