The tree of life

Wow, what a trip. I just got out of the movie theatre here in spain. I watched, The tree of life.

I have two things to say about it.

First, it is amazing if you interpret it as it is supposed to be interpreted, it is a piece of art, a series of morals, a profound experience which will have a deep impact if you let it and keep your biases out. DO NOT LET THE LACK OF A DEFINED PLOT ANGER YOU, just take it for what it is and you will be astounded.

Second, it is the most PRETENTIOUS movie I have ever seen, the director is so absolutely full of himself that he forgoes anything and everything that makes a movie a movie. So, probably worst MOVIE ever, best PHILOSOPHICAL and MORAL study into what makes human nature what it is, as well as existentialism as a whole.

Here is a short clip of the movies response to a mother who asks WHY god took her baby away from her.

He apparently posted it accidentally to Other games and instead of moving it, he made new thread here...

exactly, I'm locking the other topic so, yeah, my bad.

On a side note, there are a load of different ways of going about letting someone know they have made an honest mistake, yours was one of the less useful ones. Thank you anyways.

I typically post reviews of things on other games, like of games and the like. The problem is I was on my phone and it "remembered" I post on other games always and helpfully corrected my option as such hehee. Anyways, if you get the chance check out the video, it's impact is quite profound, I don't know if it's still in movie theatres where you guys are, but it JUST came out here in spain.

It was most definitely worth a watch~
My main gripe is that the pacing is awkward~
Had he cut out some of the fancy nature shots and other things, and replaced them with more clips of the family, he could've made the overall pacing slower and more even~
As it is, those segments go too fast, while the artsy parts end up losing their impact from being just a bit too slow~

From the comments:

"People who walked out of the cinema say this sequence is pointless, a screen saver, something I can watch on the national geographic channel"

Well damn, I have to agree with them  ::) And I haven't even watched the movie.

This was pretty much it for me. I sat through the first 30 minutes and then decided that if I wanted to waste hours of my life watching some overly pretentious pile of cinematic ejaculate, I could go to a film festival. There are multiple ways to do "artsy" intellectual films well. This movie was an example of one of the worst possible ways. To put this in perspective, I have walked out of a total of two movies in my life: Jurassic Park III and this. That is how bad it was.
