When I was 11, I just lied and said I was 18. When I was 12, 19.

Sadly, people around my age group tend to be childish, screaming dickheads, and that gives people the wrong impression of me. I was actually playing on a Minecraft server when the admin set up an 18's and over age limit. This was about a week ago, and I was already a moderator :P

I laughed.

For the kids to not be part of the community.

That sounds callous and unfair, but it's not coming from a purely grumpy adult viewpoint. When I was 11, I participated in online communities, and even though many people claimed I seemed mature for my age, I was still an awful git who whined incessently and who everybody was exasperated by. Then I played Warcraft III from 13-16 years of age, in a custom map clan made up of kids in my age group, where I fared much better (and where everybody assumed I was older than I was because I had that deceptively excellent grammar), but was still subject to hormonal drama from myself and others. But it was better for me than fucking around on the forum populated by people aged 16-40. Regardless, things were always better for myself when I didn't share any of my personal life and never let on my real age (though it can often be guessed simply through thought processes in posts - younger people think in a different way).

So my honest solution is for the kid to take the initiative and either play something else with kids their own age, or shut up about themselves. Sucks for teamspeak and the like, but I never really participated in that.

Okay, so, today this girl I know-Lauren, just took a sudden dis-interest in talking to me. Is she just on her period or something?

Yes, yes, i agree,i usually just...take the second option, because sometimes i can't mix up with kids my age in more serious things, i mean, i can be friends with really small kids and adults alike, but the thing is that when it comes to more complicated stuff i just can't...stand? many of the guys my age, kind of because my neighborhood is FULL of third age people, i was raised by a huge comunity of adults and i am just a curious wierdo, but that makes me feel more comfortable with people a bit older than me, also i just constantly see examples of why i just can't deal with most of the people my age...its just the things they do/think/like...its ok its just that i don't "click" with it,so i just hang out with people a bit older, and sometimes don't hang out with people at all.

Also i've noticed how me and countless teens are in this age in wich you are neither a kid or an adult (even thoough yo ARE a kid :P ) so you are bored by "kids stuff" but you just can't get in "adults stuff"...i don't have that...anxiety to say "oh, im a big boy, i grew up, blah, blah." it just seems really stupid for me, but i can see thats one of the reasons that makes everyone be annoyed about younger people.

That's a big reason why I like Bay 12; I've been here since around 2009, and I was pretty young, and looking back, a little annoying. I assume that's to be expected, and indeed I knew at the time I was going to do something that would make me groan in the future, so the best thing to do is be manture, be smart, and above all, be quiet!

If you have a problem lying about your age for some reason, just be quiet about it. People don't tend to ask too many questions. If they do ask you, see if you can get off by saying politely "I'd rather keep my exact age a secret." Which usually works. If they keep pressing you, then leave. Be understanding, don't get upset.

MMO's like Minecraft attract griefers, and alot of greif comes from little kids trying to wave their dicks around and gather attention. Halo get's the same treatment, and while COD players would have you beilve they have less "11 year-old douchebags" (Which is true), it's replaced by superskilled pros and andult griefers, who serve the same purpose. The main challenge isn't finding a way around the wall, it's finding someone smart enough to put holes in the wall and filter the assholes from the 11 year-olds.

Off-topic: Had no idea Mexico didn't put spaces after commas. I learned something today.

Have fun with the big-ass mosquitoes down there. When I was in Mexico last, I saw one the size of a small plate. Those things kill squirrels.

Yeah,you're right i guess...

By the way, i don't know about the commas, maybe we DO place spaces after them but i have had 4 spanish teachers and NONE of them had even mentioned that.

Oh, and those are the female mosquitoes, they don't sting all they do is look NASTY, the ones you must fear are the dengue ones, they have white spots on their legs, and if they bite you there is a chance (specially if you aren't from this country or from others with those mosquitoes) you catch dengue wich makes you have fevers aroun 40 celcius, a lot of pain and a horrible rash, about 5 of every 10 people with dengue dies...Insects here are pretty :D

Let's see.
I started posting on "neopets" when I was eleven, Many people assumed I was 15-16 is, I was still somewhat whiney.

I’m now in the 14-17 age range( I don't like giving my exact age on the internet), I've never had someone call me a whiney kid, In fact I've had people assume I was a mature adult, and I have terrible grammar.  In my experience, it is the context that matters, not the syntax. (Awaits Grammar Nazi firing squad). In my opinion, by 14 most people stop being annoying kids. I think that the annoying kids are the exception and not the rule.

I think that teens can be an asset to any online community, being a whiney git does not require you to be under 18, and what proof dose ANYONE HAVE, that most griefers/trolls are 11-14 years old.
