Yes. But microcline pauses your game to let you know a useless rock got found. Five times. Per Z-level. Oh, and there's no good way to make all things of a certain type out of microcline (e.g. rock crafts) to get rid of the shit.

Use custom stockpiles. They're there for a reason. the more irritated it makes you just add more space for stockpiles and dwarves to haul shit and then atom smash or sell the products. Catapults should do the trick if there is no channel for the ammo (Read: microcline) to fall into. Plus it trains your hobo's attributes.
