"Here, shit." says the short man with exasperation as his posture relaxes a bit, lifting the pack and a taking out another cigarette that he tosses underhand in the stranger's direction.

"Last one. You happy?"

"The hell would I be drunk, you stupid southern sheep? It's the middle of the day, and I ain't got no source of booze! Morons, all of you."

The stranger spits out his kitchen rollup and catches the cigarette. "Thanks, Dago." he says, shoving the gun through his belt and lighting up.

The short man responds in kind, raising his middle figure high in the air as he turns and paces past the Texan.

"Jake McLeod, Ex-CSIS," he says, extending his grubby hand to the sergeant. "Your plan, i figure, is fairly sound, but the idea of charging in dressed in brightly coloured pyjamas is, well, idiotic. More subtlety is in order here."

The man lowers his gun, rolls his eyes and leans against the opposite wall until they decide to do something.

The sergeant puts his 9mm back in it's holster, laughing as he goes. he grabs the offered hand firmly, talking as he shakes

"John Niehman, former secret service, current sergeant in the D.C. branch of the Resistance. I hope you're a better listener if you think that all we're doing is storming in on a combine outpost with 'brightly-colored pajamas'. Allow me to reiterate."

John jumps up with a renewed enthusiasm, dragging out a damaged chalkboard and scavenging a piece of rock to write with.

"Now, we are here."

John draws a crude capitol building, and starts tracing a line.

"We are to travel three miles north to the abandoned main D.C. subway line. Hereby referred to as subway station delta."

He draws a small train, to signify the station.

"on the way, we're to rendezvous with an arms-supplier from Romania, and get some news."

He draws a small stick figure halfway across the line.

"Now, there are three combine patrols along the way. If we have to neutralize them, we use sandbag rounds, got it? I don't need every overwatch patrol in goddamn Maryland on my ass."

He draws three ticks along the line, one before the supplier, and two after. he traces a dotted line showing the supposed patrol lines, pulling out a small sheet of paper every now and then for reference.

"And that's the mission. Any questions?"

McLeod winces as the piece of gravel screeches across the blackboard.

"Just one: You're still wearing brightly coloured goddamn pyjamas. How in the hell do you think you're going to get past security cameras dressed like that? By the way, you'll be in a tunnel. How's about pumping the place full of smoke?"
