I love Microcline, it's so much nicer to look at then orthoclase.
EDIT: yeah You'll want to raise the mineral scarcity setting a bit if you want similar levels to what we used to have

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

Cinnabar and cobaltite are by far the nicest stones for aesthetic construction

I edited my raws and turned microcline/orthoclase from blue-on-grey/yellow-on-grey to grey-on-blue/grey-on-yellow, that way smoothed floors/constructions aren't ugly.
