I like wooden weapon traps.

wooden weapon traps are much better than steel because wooden traps don't kill the goblins and clog up the mechanism, but it does wound them enough to force them to run.

Badly made, easier to dodge wooden traps also make for a great dodge-this-trapped-bridge, since they'll jam less. Since the killing's done with gravity or pointy objects, the more easily dodged and less easily clogged traps the better. ;)

No-quality wooden training spears loaded 3 to a weapon trap work quite well in the dodge traps I use.  I try to use better quality mechanisms, however, as the enemies seem to dodge more when I use them, not sure exactly why?

I have several rows of mostly masterwork wooden weapons with masterwork mechanisms (i really lucked out on strange moods) they rarely kill but they wound and make the goblins crawl away with their entrails between their legs  :D

Quality of mechanism affects hit accuracy. It seems your good-quality mechanisms make the weapons attempt to hit better, thus forcing the enemies to dodge more?

Good idea. Never considered it before, though. Wish I had.
I usually do two large bridges with a pillar in between, and on both ends and the pillar I have pressure plates. Drops them ~5Zs, nearly killing them, and then I use them to toughen up my war dogs.
