cave adabtion positive
« on: March 05, 2013, 03:23:30 pm »

I was thinking that cave adaptation could have a positive effect with the negative effects. so when a dwarf becomes cave adapted they now could for example, move faster underground. Of course with the trade off of the current negative effects for it.

Since the dwarves are adapting to the underground life it makes sense that they would be able to better live underground.
With maybe a slightly more serious negative to going above ground after being adapted to balance it out.
do you think this would be a good idea?

Probably cave adaption will have positive effects when lighting comes in, I'm guessing something like less vision/vision-related skill penalties from low light. You'd then be able to put your cave adapted dwarves to work crafting in rooms lit only by glowing fungi or whatever with no penalty, whereas the ones you're expecting to go outside will need lanterns, skylights, windows and so on to do detail work indoors.
