Favorite artifact?
« on: February 05, 2013, 09:53:21 pm »

Just wondering what's the best artifact y'all have seen in your forts so far? Mine is this:

Primarily because it contains an image of itself. It begs the question: does that image contain an even smaller image of itself, which contains an even smaller image, ad infinitum?

Pretty much, yeah.  Recursive artifacts are pretty common.

Some nice artifacts of mi last fortress:

Gimvunom (twistedlung) An adamantine breatplate decorated with diamons, raw adamantine cabochons and some other thing 1,58 millions.
Ancienthealed the confederantions of joy, an adamantine serrated disc decorated with diamons, studded with more adamantine and some
other thing: 5,42 millions.
Clenchbraids the embraced grip, an goblin bone crown decorated with zaphires, studded in adamantine, with an image one of my champions
killling a demon in nether-cap 424800.
Manthulthensed, an adamntine chain with native gold spikes. 834K
Baladezneth, a raw adamantine mechanism decorated with lots of adamntine images, with esmeralds cabochons and native goldcabochons.
1,75 Millions.
The chain and the mechanism are both in a well with a value of 36,3 Millions (1,75+834)*17(the well value multiplier.I am training an architect to legendary to raise it to 24. Then the well will have a value of 51 mill)

Mood manipulation is FUN. Especially when goblins appear with 100+ soldiers.

In a hole in the ground there lived a dwarf. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a dwarf fortress, and that means magma.
