Came across this article today; I generally don't go looking around for news and such so excuse me for it being a Wired article instead of from somewhere a bit more well regarded. http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2011/10/copyright-czar-cozies-up/

What had me interested in this was the part of ISPs denying service to users who may have infringed on copyright laws, with only an e-mail and some possibly forced ads telling them of the consequences. A friend of mine has had his internet connection disabled for the past few weeks coincidentally, though when he tries to communicate with the ISP they told him there was just a service issue. It might not be connected to this issue, but reading this today I couldn't help but wonder considering I know he downloads TV shows and movies quite regularly.

It's lame. They have tried this shit for a while, in the US and elsewhere, and guess what: It doesn't work! The risk for getting caught is minimal! The incidence over the rate of piracy is minimal!

Given the scare tactics that these people are prone to use, I think it's important to remember that you must not sign anything, lest you end up like those pepsi kids.
