So I got to thinking.  It's possible dwarfs get married and once married, you usually move in together.  Do married couples become unhappy if they don't get to see each other?  do they get good thoughts when you move their bedrooms together?  (Putting their beds in a shared room).

What about other dwarfs that have relationships?  Can you make their bedrooms shared and give good thoughts between the dwarfs?  Kindof like apartment living.  It would also be nice to be able to assign a dining room to multiple dwarfs so that you could make a truely apartment style accomidations.   I guess using burrows this is kindof possible, but you don't really get to assign it to them (like you can to one person).

I usually let the peons pick their own houses by making a bedroom and leaving it unassisgned.  They come by and claim it on their own.  After looking at the apt blocks I seen homes with 2 dwarfs and a kid assigned to it.  I don't know how to personally assign 2 dwarfs to a bedroom.

Wait a sec, I have noticed in previous releases (.18 last I remember?) that a married couple will claim a room together. Just designate a hundred bedrooms as free rooms, and eventually they will be claimed by whoever wants to. My memory is currently not clear on this, the room was either claimed by both, or I caught a dorf's partner sleeping in his bed. Either way I've noted it happening on several occasions with different couples.

Bedrooms are shared among families - Children, husbands and wives are all listed as 'owners' of a particular bedroom. Because I generally use the 'designate bedrooms and let the dwarfs pick for themselves' method, I have noticed that when a couple gets married, one of the dwarfs becomes 'owner' of two bedrooms. I've never checked the gender of the double-bedroom'd dwarf, though.

I'm pretty sure my dwarven children (once they're no longer babies) always claim a bedroom of their own.
