Drink no longer in stockpiles?
« on: November 06, 2006, 04:11:00 am »

I did a brief search but couldn't find anything.  My still room seems to be piling up drinks even though I have a food stockpile nearby.  I checked custom settings and all Food is enabled.  Why aren't my idling dwarves moving the drinks around?

This is also on 22f if that helps at all.

I love stockpile settings too, they are so hot.

A stockpile should claim barrels with drinks in them if it has free space and the settings match.  I haven't had any trouble doing this, so I'm not sure what's going on.

I started a new fort and things work a lot better.  I think its a matter of what the stockpile was when the goods were there and what you changed it to.

I made a seed stockpile near my farms, then when I started excavating my magma forge area I put down a generic food stockpile and forgot to disable seeds.  Some enterprising dwarf took the seeds and put them in the new stockpile.  I saw this (eventually) and disabled seeds from the stockpile but it seemed like nobody would ever take the seeds out.  However the new seeds were placed back in the correct seed only stockpile.  Eventually all of the seeds ran out of the far stockpile and the problem disappeared.

I think this is related to the drink stockpile because I may have done something similar when doing the same "transfer some food deeper into the fort" type stuff.
