Disabling Default Workshops?
« on: August 21, 2011, 11:59:24 pm »

Is there any possible way to disable the default workshops? Other than the ones under custom workshops, that is.

No.
But just don't ever build them.

Pretty sure you can remove workshops from the entity file and that will essentially disable them for that race.

Some of them, yes. But most of the workshops are still hardcoded and can't be disabled.

Only the soap maker's workshop and the screw press are in the entity file.  The rest of the workshops are not listed and can't be disabled that way.

No, you can't. But you can remove skills and jobs from the entity.

Does that remove them from the list? Or does it just make them unusable completely?

That would make anything related to the job labor completely unusable so yeah.

Been a while since I looked at this stuff, my bad.

Back in 40d you'd still get migrants with disabled skills but I'm not sure if this is still the case.

From my experiments disabling the labor in the entity file only effects world gen. You will still get dwarves, and you will still be able to assign dwarves with those deactivated labors.
