Lead Equipment.. On a side note I demand Sharks
« on: August 14, 2011, 06:52:25 am »

1) How good is Lead for armor and weapons? I made some lead ballista arrows through modding. I'm testing it on a kitten once its assembled.

2) I hate my dwarves as much as the next guy. However magma is the poor man's secret agent disposer.

I want a swimming pool filled with sharks or another vicious sea creature that will eat stuff I *pit* into it.

Can I:

- Mod so that elves will trade me caged sharks?
- Make them appear somehow?
- Armok, how can I have sharks or a similarily vicious creature?

I think it's more efficient if you put carps instead of sharks

It probably is, though carp aren't as vicious as they used to by. I just embarked near a river with three pages of various fish and no dwarf got carped in 2 years...

Lead armor should be almost completely useless. a) It's very soft... for armor, harder is better b) It's very heavy, slowing your dwarves down.
For weapons on the other hand... for bladed weapons's it's useless too, but it should be decent for hammers and maces. About the same as silver (currently the deadliest material for blunt weapons), IIRC. I think, for ballista arrows, weight is also useful, but I'm not completely sure...

I got fed up with my fortress, so I decided to kill everyone (abandon is for elves) with a cave-in.

OK, cave-ins were always pretty deadly, but with the new falling object damage they are downright brutal.  As far as I can make out from the logs, many people were killed by the flying bodies of other victims.  One baby's corpse ricocheted off three other people, two walls and the floor.

Sharks are a pain to catch, and that's when they do show up.
