Gah damn it did you have to remind me of the paracommando templars? I've had that dreaded image in my head for months, full clad armored mage killing knights jumping out of thin air to join the combat. (in the games ever so fun wave style combat)

I feel the need to say something positive about the game after all that bashing now.
I like the combo system, especially considering the DA:O one wich only had spell combinations, making spellcasters utterly dominant in that game. In DAII any class can perform combos, wich are all cross class combinations of skills.
...not that it is possible when matters most, bosses seemed to be immune to any status effects and thus combos. Dull auto attack fest where the 'tank' needs to continuisly dodge attacks in true hack and slash fashion. Darn I'm being negative again.

You know, sometimes I just ****** hate the combat in both games. Always with the whittling down of spammy enemies who constantly hit you when you're down, with no end in sight unless you (ugh!) micromanage your teammates. And limited/purchasable tactics slots are just annoying...

/bloodmage rant

I think my copy of DA:O or PS3 may be broken, too. Literally every other battle, I turn around to find half of my party just idling around our enemies. >_>

I remember alot of people bitching about how hard it was to make friends with Sten without covering him with gifts...
I did it in one or two chats and he was best buds...

It went something like this...

Warden - "So... Stuff..."
Sten - "Yes Stuff..."
Warden - "\\Grunt\\"
Sten - "\\Grunt Grunt\\"
Warden - "Yep Good talk..."
Sten + 50 Friendship Points...

Sten and I have always been good chums. Shale and Zevran (when I don't outright kill him) can be a little hard to get along with. :P

I guess I just "got" the gruff characters.  Oghren's blunt drunkenness always chimed in with my dorfness, Sten's warrior nature was easy to understand (I got along well with the Arishok in DA2), Morigan's fundamentalist and survivalist policies were always appeased...  though I tended to piss off Allistair (oops, I like that guy) and I killed the old lady due to my practical approach to the blood mages (well I'd kill them IF they turned, didn't say I would definitely...).

I killed the old lady due to my practical approach to the blood mages .

It's ironic that Wynne can become a blood mage herself with a single push of the "x" button.

If you made Anders a blood mage in Dragon Age: Awakening, he had a special dialogue.  He'd be ranting about how much he hates Blood Mages, and The Warden could say "But you're a blood mage."
