I downloaded Dwarf Fortress yesterday, after hearing all the critical acclaim given to it. However, when I go to start dwarfort.exe, the window comes up, and nothing happens. I've tried multiple times, and I always get the same thing. I'll post what the errorlog says:

Are you sure you extracted ALL the files from the archive? Sometimes (especially when using winrar), I have a habit of taking only the top folder or somethign like that...

Make sure its unzipped right with all of the subfolders intact, and none of the files are corrupted. If nothing works try redownloading and installing from scratch. If not even that works, then maybe one of us can help?

Ok, thanks for your help! I'll go try that now and see if it works.

It didn't work. I tried re-downloading and extracting it, and I got the same thing in the errorlog. I even tried the no music version, and it didn't work. *Sigh* I guess I won't get to play it after all.

You Should have two folders

Data > Announcment, art , dipscript, help, init, intial_movies, movies, objects, save, sound speech, [index]
Raw > graphics, objects

Do you have everything?

I checked all that before and I had it all. Now I re-dled it, and it work! YAY! Thank you everyone for all your help.
