Eating elves
« on: August 08, 2011, 04:39:14 pm »

I got a game going on with the embark names "elveswar" which someone gave to the forum a while back.

How do I change a ongoing game so that Dwarves eat elves?

You'll need to to a world re-gen, because it involves modding the "entities" folder that determines how civs form.

Alternatively, you could mod elves to not be sentient. This would not require a world re-gen, but may have...interesting effects on your game.

Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies. Rivers and seas boiling! 40 years of darkness, earthquakes, volcanoes.
The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!!

Ok.. I don't actually know what would happen....And the Ghostbusters seem to have almost perfectly described the DF worlds

As said, you'll need to start a new game for the required changes to take effect. I once did that and it's pretty fun actually. The meat is negligable but  it's always fun making goblin and elf skull totems or shooting elves with elf bone bolts. Means the buggers are actually useful after their inevitable and hideous death.

If there is a way to combine this with the ability to burn wooden equipment for charcoal, then it'd actually be worth the hassle of getting in a war with them.

That would be hilarious and would possibly smell really nice too. Armok knows the Dwarfs can do with some nicer smells.  :-\
